Publishing is changing, or to put it more accurately, has changed. Until recently, publishers would take on new authors when they found promising work. Their success rate was not always high, and because of the decline in paper book sales, new, untried authors are rarely attractive to publishers. Their current solution is to let new authors publish themselves on Amazon and other digital sales platforms, and wait for the response. By doing this publishers can significantly reduce their risk. But there are two problems facing the new author. Writing a great novel and putting it on Amazon can he hugely frustrating because there are far too many titles to get noticed. And the paths to getting noticed are mostly blocked to indie publishers. And lastly, if an indie publisher does manage to break through and sell a ton of books, the publishers flock around like vultures, offering contracts, which in almost every case, ties up the copyright for 70 years.
This is were we come in.
We will read your novel within a reasonable time span. If we select your book, we will publish it digitally. Being part of Swallow Press will open a full range of publicity platforms most indie authors have limited access to. And most importantly, we will be honest with you… If your book is not good enough to be a top seller, we will tell you why.
